ABOUT

We are pleased to welcome prospective members and established members alike to Beltwide Cotton Cooperative, the fastest-growing cotton marketing cooperative in the United States today. Founded in 1996 with a small group of farmers in West Tennessee who foresaw the need for help in marketing their crops in the next century, Beltwide now has around 3,000 members producing cotton on hundreds of thousands of acres across the cotton belt, and we are continuing to grow.  Beltwide is a totally producer-owned entity managed by Weil Brothers-Cotton, Inc., headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama.  This cooperation between Beltwide and Weil Brothers, combined with favorable results achieved for producers, has led to the rapid and sustained growth of Beltwide. Beltwide has managed marketing pools for Upland cotton in the MidSouth, Southeast, South and West Texas (in association with the Texas Independent Ginners Association), as well as Acala and Pima pools in California (in association with the SJV Quality Cotton Growers Association).

Beltwide distinguishes itself from other cooperatives in several ways.  First, we are truly belt-wide, and thus we can offer our mill customers a wider variety of cotton than other marketing associations.  Second, with an audited statement presented to members at the end of each year, we offer our members complete disclosure on exactly the value received as well as the costs involved in managing, storing and shipping to the buyers. Third, our association with Weil Brothers-Cotton, Inc., lets us offer the supply benefits of a cooperative, coupled with the operating efficiencies of a highly reputable merchant with more than 130 years of experience and  respect in world cotton markets.  "Beltwide Cotton" is becoming a well-known name among producers and consumers alike, who are pleased with the quality of service and the dedication of the Beltwide team.  Beltwide members get the immediate benefits of direct access to the end user, economies of scale, weight and quality gains, along with FULL USDA LOAN PREMIUMS and the maximum benefit of price support programs. Our efforts will be concentrated on achieving the best possible price for your cotton while keeping costs low, resulting in the maximum net return to our members.  Since most sales are made directly to mills, your crops are marketed in an efficient manner, and the savings from better marketing goes directly into your pocket.  Finally, Beltwide offers growers more flexibility than other marketing associations or cooperatives, in that it allows growers to sign up just part of their production, rather than requiring a commitment of one hundred percent of production.

Direct sales to mills, flexibility, accountability, reliability, and the reputation for integrity of Weil Brothers all add up to make Beltwide an integral and necessary part of your marketing plans.
