Tommy Funk, Jr. is a past President of the Beltwide Board of Directors having served for three terms. Prior to serving as president, Tommy served as Secretary/Treasurer for four years, and is completing his fourth term on the Board of Directors.
Tommy was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. After high school, he attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a BBA in general business. After graduation, Tommy worked in Memphis for a major cotton merchant, before returning to south Texas to work in the family farming and ginning business in 1990. Today, he is the third generation to work in his family's business.
Tommy is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sebastian Cotton and Grain, Ltd., a grain merchandising and cotton processing and storage business. In addition to working in the family business, Tommy has served his industry in many different ways including: 1994 Cotton Leadership graduate; past director of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Cotton and Grain Producers; past director Texas Independent Cotton Ginners; Cooperative Delegate and Board of Directors for the National Cotton Council of America. He is a past board member of his local chapter of the American Heart Association, and is currently a member of the St. Alban's Episcopal Church vestry.
Tommy is married to the former Teri Trevino of Harlingen, and has two daughters, Jordan and Madeline.
