     Alvin B. Samuel Gin

     Paragould, Arkansas

In 2000 Beltwide Cotton Cooperative was pleased to have Mr. Alvin Samuel join as a member.

Mr. Samuel was raised in Paragould, Arizona where his parents ran a mercantile store and cotton gin. At one time Mr. Samuel’s uncle owned and operated Lesser Goldman Company, a cotton merchandising business in St. Lois, Missouri and at the time a competitor of Weil Brothers-Cotton, Inc.

Mr. Samuel attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From there he served two years in the Air Force before returning to Paragould and the family gin. Today, Mr. Samuel operates Samuel Gin along with farming operations in cotton, rice and soybeans. Mr. Samuel’s life revolves around his work, and his family. In fact, it can be said that his work is his play. Along with work and family Mr. Samuel has been very committed to the Paragould community throughout the years. Mr. Samuel has served on the Soil Conservation Board, the Local Bank Board, Hospital Board and Chamber of Commerce.

Although Mr. Samuel has been very active in his profession and his community, he and his wife Carolyn are the most proud of their three lovely daughters. The Samuel’s now have six grandchildren that keep them on their toes.

For the past five years Mr. Samuel has been an asset to Beltwide. For four of those five years Mr. Samuel has served as a dedicated member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Samuel’s roots go deep into the Cotton business and throughout his years in the industry, he has gained a knowledge that has served him well.

Thanks to his experience, expertise and dedicated service Beltwide members as well as the Board of Directors have benefited from his input. We are very proud to have Mr. Alvin Samuel as a member of Beltwide Cotton Cooperative.
